This year, on Bazaar Day, the Grade 12 DP art students presented their DP Visual Art art works for exhibition. They chose to display a selection of the best art works made over the last two years. Not only did they have to create a coherent body of work on a personalised theme, but they also made curatorial decisions about how best to display the work in a way that would be engaging and meaningful for the viewers. Students dealt with different themes, such as family love, loss and separation, and childhood memories. They explored a variety of media, such as painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and animation. They also displayed their art journals, giving insight into the experimental and research processes that informed their work. The exhibition was a chance to celebrate the end of their artistic journey for the DP, but the skills and experiences gained will surely be of great value in their lives, no matter what they choose to pursue after graduation. I would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the best for the future.
